Police hunt parking space double murderer
Police in Victoria have launched a manhunt after a double killing thought to have been sparked by an argument over a parked car.
Police are warning members of the public not to approach 36-year-old Richard Devries, who they believe is armed and was involved in the killings.
A 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old man who lived at the same home in Moe were killed in the driveway of the block of units where they lived about 12.30am (AEDT) on Saturday.
Both men suffered stab wounds.
"Mr Devries is believed to have been in the vicinity of the High Street Moe address earlier today and can assist police in this investigation," said Inspector John Potter from the Homicide Squad.
"The incident occurred after an argument involving a car parking space at an address in High Street, Moe.
"We believe Mr Devries is dangerous and we are asking the public not to contact him."
It is thought Mr Devries was in a car blocking a driveway to the units when he was asked to move his vehicle, which sparked an argument.
"We have got a lot of resources looking for Mr Devries at the present," Inspector Potter said.
He did not say whether Mr Devries was a suspect in the killings but said it is thought Mr Devries was at the scene and may have vital information in relation to the investigation.
"We urge anyone that sees Mr Devries not to approach him but to contact police via 000," he said.
A Rural Ambulance spokesman said one of the victims died at the scene and the other died later at the La Trobe Regional Hospital.
A fourth man originally believed to have been involved in the altercation was later released by police without charges being laid.
