Justin Timberlake: I'm not a jerk

Justin Timberlake: I'm not a jerk

Maybe it's no coincidence that Justin Timberlake was cast as cocky Napster founder Sean Parker in "The Social Network": The singer-turned-actor tells the March issue of Interview magazine that most members of the movie industry assume he's just an arrogant pop star.

"What’s been more of a battle for me throughout the process of moving into acting is that I feel like I have to keep reassuring people that I’m not an a—hole," says Timberlake, who interviews actress Amanda Seyfried in the magazine. "There is a stigma that comes from being on stage and being a musician."

That's not to say that being in the music business is any easier.

"Whatever you do as a musician, no matter how good it is, somebody somewhere is going to s— on it," says Timberlake, whose singing career is currently on hold. "You put your heart on your sleeve, and what will happen will happen. But it’s like that for any artist. You do a painting, you take a photograph, it’s the same. That’s how artistry works."

So are you convinced that Timberlake is really a nice guy?
